Client
A global law firm, well-known for its remarkable legal abilities and cross-border expertise, partnered with us recently. The firm serves businesses, financial institutions, and government bodies situated across the world. It operates with many partners and attorneys globally, indicating its strong international presence. The company usually handles complex cross-border transactions, high-stakes disputes, and powerful legal matters.
Problem Statement
The client spent maximum time on monitoring legal updates, that too, manually, where most time was eaten up in tracking regulatory websites, court updates, and client policy documents for new or modified obligations. Besides, each domain or jurisdiction required separate monitoring, causing fragmented data and a delayed response to changes. And this naturally brought inefficiencies in tracking and managing workstreams. There was no way to track progress, assign responsibilities, or track team accountability, as there were no centralized dashboards to check visibility. As multiple legal analysts reported manually, it made performance tracking and compliance assurance difficult. It also led to inconsistent data and reporting, leading to low operational efficiency.
Our Strategy
As the client was tracking regulatory websites, court updates, and client policy documents for new or modified obligations manually, we decided to automate this process using AI, where the machine took care of continuous monitoring and scraping of the required information, including processing and reporting. Beyond extraction, we also focused on identifying legally relevant changes automatically from the monitored content and presenting needed updates to legal teams for review. All of this was aimed at reducing time spent on manual work and increasing efficiency.
Our Solution
Browse.ai (no-code web automation), along with Microsoft Dataverse, Power Apps, SharePoint, and Power Automate, was used to build the required solution. Browse.ai made it easy by helping in continuous monitoring and scraping of the required legal or regulatory web pages from the document repositories. After detecting the fresh updates, amendments, or newly added clauses, the system automatically compared the new content with previous versions to identify relevant legal changes. After that, the bots transmitted the extracted information via Webhooks to a Power Automate flow for processing. It was then stored in Dataverse tables along with relevant metadata. The reference documents and PDFs were securely saved in SharePoint libraries.
This robust data model ensured full traceability of every captured change. Legal analysts could review and validate these updates through a Power Apps interface. They received notifications and escalations correctly as they were managed through Power Automate.
Business Outcome
- Identification of New and Updated Obligations: The legal team could quickly identify new or modified regulatory obligations as they emerged, cutting manual tracking effort by 60–70% and improving response time.
- High Accountability: Automated routing and status tracking improved ownership. It also reduced delays.
- Data-based Decision Making: The performance analytics were completely based on the consolidated metrics. It also helped to learn compliance trends and future forecasting.
- Reduced Risk: Timely awareness of legal changes ensured compliance and minimized potential exposure for clients.
